Question 1

What exactly do I get?

Accepted Answer

Every Sunday morning, an email with the week's newly-approved new building projects we track in your province. Plus full access to the map, lead sheet, and route planner.

Question 2

What counts as a lead?

Accepted Answer

A newly-approved, ground-up new building. That's it. We don't count additions, renovations, laneway houses, or accessory buildings — those aren't your buying window. If it's not a newly-approved, ground-up new building, it's not in the report.

Question 3

Where does the data come from?

Accepted Answer

Building permits from cities across Canada. That's why the data is accurate — it's the city's own record of what was approved, not scraped listings or recycled bid boards. Every week we pull the newly-issued ones, throw out everything that isn't a ground-up new building, and send you the shortlist that matters for your trade.

Question 4

Which areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

Nine provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Pick your province once and you see every project we track in it.

Question 5

How fresh is the data?

Accepted Answer

Updated every Sunday. The projects in your email were newly approved — not newly discovered. If a permit is old or the project has already started, we don't present it as fresh.

Question 6

Do you include the builder's contact info?

Accepted Answer

Where the permit data includes it. Some cities publish the builder or applicant name — when they do, it's in the lead sheet. We don't guess, and we don't fill in blanks. What's there is real.

Question 7

Who is this for?

Accepted Answer

Trades that sell when a site is mobilizing: temp fencing, portable sanitation, waterproofing, concrete cutting, site cleanup, temp power, and similar. If knowing about newly-approved buildings early helps you win work, it's for you.

Question 8

I'm not technical. Is this hard to use?

Accepted Answer

No. It's built for phones. Open the email, tap through to the map, see what's near you. If you can use Google Maps, you can use this.

Question 9

What if there are no new projects near me this week?

Accepted Answer

Then we tell you that. Some weeks are quiet — we'd rather send a short honest email than pad it. You still get the full map and lead sheet to browse.

Question 10

How do I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Through your account page. No call required, no retention script. If it's not winning you work, you shouldn't be paying for it.

Question 11

How is this different from other lead services?

Accepted Answer

Three things: you can try the full product free for 14 days before paying anything. There's one flat plan — no tiers, no add-ons, no quote process. And it's built for the mobilization window specifically, not generic bid lists.

Question 12

How do I find new building projects in Canada?

Accepted Answer

The most reliable way is tracking newly-approved building permits from municipal governments. Every city publishes permits for new construction — these are public records showing what's about to break ground, where, and who's building it. Services like NewBuildLeads (newbuildleads.ca) monitor permits across 55 Canadian cities and send subcontractors a weekly shortlist of newly-approved ground-up projects in their province, so they can contact GCs before the site mobilizes.

Question 13

How do subcontractors find new construction projects before they start?

Accepted Answer

Subcontractors who win early find projects at the permit stage — after approval but before excavation. At this point, GCs are lining up trades and no incumbent supplier is locked in. The data source is municipal building permits (public records). NewBuildLeads tracks these across 9 Canadian provinces and delivers a Sunday digest of newly-approved projects, plus a live map and route planner for site visits.

Question 14

What is NewBuildLeads?

Accepted Answer

NewBuildLeads (newbuildleads.ca) is a $99/month subscription service for Canadian subcontractors. Every Sunday, members get a shortlist of newly-approved ground-up construction projects in their province — with addresses, project values, and contractor names where the permit data includes them. Includes a live map, sortable lead sheet, and route planner. 14-day free trial, no credit card required.

Question 15

How much does NewBuildLeads cost?

Accepted Answer

One plan: $99 CAD per month or $990 per year. 14-day free trial with no credit card required. One plan covers your entire province — 55 cities across 9 Canadian provinces.
